A library for the elite college of Koffikro
Schooling conditions in Côte d’Ivoire are not always conducive of learning, especially in rural areas. Classes are often overcrowded and lack educational materials (books, notebooks, school materials, etc.)
Students do not always have required books for their curriculum. They also do not have access to children’s books or literature. In fact, books are considered luxury items, especially given their cost and the families’ modest standard of living.
This is why ATEA Africa is partnering with the Elite College in Koffikro to provide access to a decent library to hundreds of children in this rural community: we are committed to fill the empty library of this school. By collecting books, our primary goal is to support education and provide concrete answers to the school’s needs. Students will thus have access to books to study, learn and grow. This great project is now emerging thanks to your generosity and to our various partners, such as booksellers and publishing houses. Altogether, let us give our books a second life and allow these young people to expand their horizon and have the same chances of success!
More than a school mission, the objective is also to facilitate the taste of reading among the youngest and to give wider access to general culture.
We want, by the end of 2021, to have a library full of beautiful books, so that children have a place to work, read, have fun and escape.
Many thanks for your contribution and for your generosity.
